RE: The Special Joys of Small Trailers....

I have a 16ft Casita and really enjoy it but with my daughter getting older its time to upgrade. I really love the look of the oliver but I am concerned they are new. Could you provide your buying experience and if you had any regrets.
Thanks Kevin

RE: Summer 2009 - Bad Lands / Black Hills / Rocky Mtn NP

Just thought I would suggest a campground in Gainesville the outlet mall has a great place to camp. Also we really enjoyed the Koa at Devils Tower its where they filmed Close in Encounters of the third kind . The campground shows it nightly. Also they have great BBQ and I believe they have hook ups. We stayed there and I would remember if they did not have electric as it was hot and we ran the ac. Also the badlands Koa is a great place as is the Palmer Gulch Koa Not a big fan of koa's but two these two were worth the stop so my daughter could swim. Also check out Alpine Inn Resturant when there great food and cheap!

RE: Texas Motor Speedway

Fort worth
I heard this was a nice place but its north of the speedway about 45 min which would be 3 hrs on race day
Fort Worth
Gainesville is not the far and for 10 dollars a night I think at the outlet mall right over I 35 you can camp. It was cheap, the sites had water, electricity and sewer hookups--no cable, but wide-open sky to point dish Its on the s side of mall west of I 35

RE: Best Way around St Louis and construction on I64

I think the past way to go is to stay on 70 to 270 North which loops you around into IL then take 255 S to 64 E towards Louisville then 57 to 24 etc or you can get off 70 in wentzville onto 64 which has construction on it to 270 s then to 255 N to 64.

RE: Anyone know about Springlake Campground in Burlington IA?

I found this info on another website
While you're here at Spring Lake Campground you can play some golf at Burlington Golf Club.
The delightful variety of local attractions and all the outdoors recreation are certain to keep you coming back many times. Spending too much time indoors got you down, No need to worry; Spring Lake Campground in Iowa is a delightful pick.
Geode State Park is a beautiful place any time of year, and the nice folks of Burlington like to hang out close by. So many fun things right next door to Spring Lake Campground, and when you have spent some time here you will feel completely regenerated. Spring Lake Campground is an old favorite with folks of Burlington.
The obliging operators of the campground and the loveliness of the place attract people from near and far. This campground is so pretty. Near Spring Lake Campground you find
a golf course called Spirit Hollow Golf Club, and don't leave Spring Lake Campground without first going for a hike along the Locust Lane Nature Trail.
Places like Delabar Park State Park are brilliant to have a look at, and let's not forget Spring Creek which is a stream that you may stumble upon while here. Through the summer months at Spring Lake Campground highs are mostly in the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 60's. Highs all through the winter are regularly in the 30's; after the sun is down through
the wintertime temperatures at Spring Lake Campground plunge into the 10's.
While visiting this neighborhood in Iowa it's a delightful idea to go for a weekend of camping too. The amount of rain that falls at Spring Lake Campground is close to the national average; the wettest month of the year is frequently July, that's the one that rains the most, and February is the month with the least moisture.

RE: Planning Trip To Grand Canyon

Larry
I am plannnig a trip out there in the near future and have been saving info from post on this forum. Below are copies of comment people have made from I have heard it is nothing more then a parking lot I have heard the KOA is a lot nicer:
We stayed here last May, and while I don't have a lot of pictures of the park, you can go to the above link and under the "Location" you will find a layout map of the park and under "Amenities" a description of the services.
It is a paved area, well maintained, level, etc. If you want lots of privacy, this is probably not what you want, even though there is enough space between the sites. Everything is clean, and there is a pet kennel if you need it. We enjoyed our stay.
We liked it because we took the train ride to the Canyon and the train depot is within walking distance. Also downtown Williams is within walking distance and has a lot of neat stores, etc.
It's right in the town of Williams just off I-40 on historic Rt 66 (which they promote for all it's worth), about 30 miles west of Flagstaff and 120 north of Phoenix, 2hrs from Vegas and Hoover Dam. Has full hook-ups on nice spaces but no shade, fire rings, picnic tables and you MUST use a ramp with your sewer hose or their "security" will issue you a warning

I have been getting it also. I think it has to do with a promotion on Reserve America website. I believe there is a box that you have to check to not get the magazine
